![]() SAGE has dozens of activities, groups, and programs that provide opportunities for GLBT seniors to connect with each other and the community. From support & discussion groups to socials, benefits counseling to brunches, and individual counseling to bus and walking trips, you are sure to find something at SAGE that is perfect for you.
Clinical & Social Services SAGE's Clinical & Social Services Program provides counseling and case-management services to GLBT people over the age of 60 (50 if HIV+). Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, and Case Management are just some of the services provided by the SAGE Clinical & Social Services staff. Services may be provided on-site at SAGE's Clinical & Social Services office, or in-home or by telephone for homebound clients. Community Services SAGE's Community Services Program provides a wide variety of social activities for GLBT Seniors. A Daily Drop-In gives seniors the chance to socialize in a relaxed and welcoming environment, while monthly SAGE Walks and Brunches present opportunities to explore New York City and surrounding areas. Art & Culture Series is presented in the form of on-going groups and classes, like the Acting Class, the Art Studio, and the Opera-Lovers Group. This Series also includes special programming. Health & Wellness Series is an on-going program featuring guest professionals presenting on a range of medical and emotional health issues. There is also a twice weekly aerobic exercise class, SAGErcize, which takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays. Money & Finances Series includes regular meetings of the SAGE Savings & Investment Group as well as guest presenters discussing topics like estate planning, retirement planning and Medicare. History & Heritage Series presents important community figures to SAGE members and the broader GLBT public. Recent speakers include Joan Nestle, David Carter, and Douglas Kimmel. Sex, Dating & Romance Series are special workshops designed to help GLBT seniors connect or stay connected to significant others of whatever stripe. There are workshops for men and for women.
