SAGE is for everybody, including you!

The SAGE Center
In 2011, the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) awarded SAGE an Innovative Senior Center (ISC) contract to open New York City's and the nation's first full-time center for LGBT older adults.  The SAGE Center, set to open in mid-January, is looking for interested parties to suggest and teach programs.  Interested?  Download and fill out our Programming Proposal here.
A number of volunteer opportunities are also available - call Bertis at 212-741-3592 for more information.

All Ages
People of all ages get involved in SAGE. You don't need to be an older adult - or even close! younger people become part of SAGE because they want to help LGBT older adults and contribute to a better aging experience for all of us. Many people join SAGE because they'll be older adults some day and want to invest in their futures.

LGBT or Not
You don't need to identify as LGBT to get involved with SAGE. Support for our community's older adults crosses all lines of sexual orientation and gender identity. Many of SAGE's volunteers are not LGBT. SAGE's programs like our History & Heritage series are a great way to learn more about the LGBT community and the struggle for equality. People of good will from all corners of society make financial contributions to support SAGE's work. Everyone who cares about LGBT older adults is welcome at SAGE! Take a look at our Friendly Visitor Program for more information on making a different in an LGBT older adult's life.
