SAGE is seeking a full-time Director of Social Services who will oversee and administer the provision of social work and case management services at SAGE. Key activities include providing a social services perspective to Senior Management and the SAGE Board of Director as well as working collaboratively with staff from other departments within SAGE (including Community Services, Advocacy, Development and Finance) to enhance programming at SAGE for the enjoyment, growth and empowerment of LGBT seniors. SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders) is the oldest and largest organization in the country working on behalf of LGBT older people. Headquartered in Chelsea in New York City, SAGE provides social services and programs, offers training and technical assistance, and serves as a national advocacy voice on LGBT aging issues. SAGE is seeking a Deputy Director for Development & External Affairs (DEA) who will report to the Executive Director. The Deputy Director will lead a growing 6-person department that not only supports SAGEs current fundraising needs, but also fashions and executes a fundraising, marketing and communications program that ensures that the organization can meet the goals of its new Strategic Plan. The Deputy Director will be a member of the senior management team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
SAGE is the undisputed leader in the LGBT aging field and has recently adopted an ambitious new Strategic Plan that will result in a major expansion of its programs both locally and nationally.
The Deputy Director has the opportunity to fashion a development strategy that builds on existing relationships and agency strengths, but also meets the ambitious goals of SAGEs Strategic Plan by taking the organization to the next level of fundraising. SAGE seeks to grow its budget from $4 million to $6 million over the next five years in order to support exciting program expansion.
The Deputy Director also has the opportunity to manage SAGEs positive brand, strengthen it, and expand its reach. This year SAGE celebrated its 30th Anniversary and presented its 4th National Conference on LGBT Aging, sponsored by AARP. Learn More » |
